Made from parcels of Verdejo grapes grown in the high slopes and plains of Rueda, this is a bright, gorgeous and complex Rueda that has texture and depth like you wouldn't believe possible from this grape. Flavours of apple, pear, citrus and aniseed notes develop on the fresh and engaging palate.
Certainly the best Rueda we have met for many years.
Javier Bohórquez is a frequent visitor to Ireland, loving to fish and meet old friends. His home in the Peñafiel district of the Ribera del Duero gives the best and most elegant of the region's wines as well as some of the most famous. The grapes for this wine come from the neighbouring region of Rueda and are a selection that Javier and his team make in order to offer another view of his landscape and habitat.
It's a brilliant food wine that really comes to life with shellfish, poultry or grilled vegetables. There's a lovely mouthfeel that is herbaceous, textured and saline, leading to a long finish that is mouthwatering and clean as a whistle.
