The OG of Sauvignon Blancs for The Allotment, this is a wine that has been in our range for over 20 years. A true classic with a super story to boot; zinging freshness and intensity of flavour with a fine food-savvy structure, it is iconic wine that aptly represents this iconic region.
Tropical fruit flavours with lime and lemony acidity in a medium-light body with freshness and concentration in perfect balance.
In a HALF BOTTLE.
Established in 1996 by Kim Crawford himself, the original wines were made from fruit that he had sourced from across the South Island of New Zealand. Moving the focus to solely farming from Marlborough vineyards, the results became highly successful and set a marker for the future of the business, rather than purchasing lots of land. This policy of careful attention to supplier practices has meant that the company now has the largest vineyard resource in the entire Marlborough region.
The winery's early success and the style that Kim perfected from his first vintage, was a clear thorn in the side of many other drinks businesses, so it was no real surprise that in 2005 the mighty Constellation bought the company. Retaining the wine-making team (and Kim, too for a few years) the winery then moved its production into the mainstream of big volume - the clincher for quality however, being that because of the careful selection of all of the available sites, the standards never suffered - brilliant.
